Summary
In this chapter, the little prince went to a small planet which was inhabited by a lamplighter. The lamplighter was faithful to his job and respects the orders despite his desire to take a rest. Among all the men he has met, the lamplighter was the only who was not selfish and had an occupation that made sense for him. He wanted to be friend with him but unfortunately, the planet was too small for two persons. So he went to another planet 10 times bigger than the preceding one. He met a geographer, and he was very interested in his job. The geographer taught him a lot such as the difference between a geographer and an explorer by citing him their roles. The little prince also learned the meaning of the world “ephemeral”. The geographer proposed him to visit the planet earth because it has a good reputation.
