Summary

In this chapter, the author was flying and his plane crashed in the Sarah desert. While he was trying to repair his airplane which is damage, he met a little boy who didn’t seem to be lost. The boy asked him to draw a sheep for him. The author told him that he doesn’t know how to draw but the little boy insisted on. So he did four drawings for him but he criticized all of it. That’s how met the little prince.

Summary

Due to different believes:  the learning of the Coran and the poverty, many Muslim children are sending to “Koranic schools” called “Daraa”. These children are too young (between 5 and 6). They have a specific time for begging and learning Coran. These children usually wear untidy clothes with metal container. When they came back with an empty metal container they are beaten and are punished. Marabout said force children to beg because their parents don’t pay fees. The UNICEF is an international organization, it reported that Senegal is the location where most of the beggars are and they represent 1% of the population. One “Daraa” has been visited and they found that the marabout is the one who is the most comfortable and the beggars are in a really bad condition. They have a bad nutrition and are illiterate.

Questions:

I know that it’s because of the poverty that they entrust they children to someone that they don’t know. Personally I’m from Senegal and I know what I’m talking about, these reasons which are given by the marabout can be true but not at all, because I know what these beggars children are suffering. In reality they don’t learn Coran and they passed all the day in the street for begging. That’s why many beggars children robe. My questions are: Where is the government? Why don’t they find solutions for stopping it?

Summary

It’s been six months that Haiti had an earthquake. The earthquake created a big disaster which affects the children’s education. The majority of school almost was destroyed and many children were traumatized. Now the educational conditions are progressing and many schools are opened, nevertheless the problems still exist. They try to reestablish the economy. It’s a necessary for children to go back to school as soon as it’s possible because school is the best location where children who are suffering from this earthquake should be. Reestablishing the educational system is one of the underlying causes of international contributions.
